| | | On
the day of your test, we normally recommend you book a lesson before your driving
test. The lesson is used to to warm up with, followed by the driving test itself.
Your instuctor will pick you up from your home and check that you have all your
documents needed for your practical test. Then as we drive towards the test centre
, you will have an opportunity to do a little practice of any manoeuvres you feel
you would like to do before your test. But remember, as you are at test standard
so you should be perfect. During this time, please ask your instructor any questions
you feel need asking, and its always a good idea to have a run through the new
car saftey check questions. Your instuctor will then make sure the car is clean
inside and out and will set it up for you ready for your test, ie mirrors and
driver's seat.
Both
you and your instuctor will go into the waiting room and wait to be called by
the examiner, whom will ask you for your paperwork and ask you to sign a declaration
that the car is insured for test purposes. Next you shall be asked to go to your
car and the examiner shall follow you out. If
you want your instructor to go with you on the test, YOU must ask the examiner
if he or she may come with you , but we are not allowed to talk or make any comments
during your test. |
During
the test, the examiner will be watching you, to see if you are under full control
of the car, understand the highway code and can plan and anticipate all other
road users . The test lasts about 40 mins and shall finish back at the test centre
where you started where you shall be told your results and any advice on your
further training . Please listen to the examiner very closely as their advice
is very informative and your instructor is invited to attend the debriefing if
you wish them to hear what the examiner has to say . Please
remember pass or fail, your instuctor shall drive you away from the test station
to discuss your test and then drive you home . This is done to clear the test
area for the next test appointments. When you have passed your test, you have
an option to do the Pass Plus course as this covers driving experience that you
may want to learn further such as motorway driving, night driving etc. In the
information in the Pass Plus package, is a list of insurance companys whom give
discount with the passing of this course (ideal for young drivers). Please see
our Pass Plus page on
this site for any further information or ask your instructor for details . You
do not have to take another driving test for Pass Plus, as they are just extra
modular lessons that can be taken after your test.
